Poggio al Chiuso

Poggio al Chiuso is located in the heart of Chianti, between Florence and Siena.
Its origins date back to 1898 when Narciso Corti began trading the wine he produced in Tavarnelle in Florence. It took Narciso almost 8 hours to reach the Big City with his horse and carriage and sell his wines.
The wine business passed on to Mario and brother Gino until the new generation arrived: Marco, Matteo and Andrea, the latest generation, brought winemaking to a more modern level, integrating sustainable approaches with intriguing winemaking decisions. One of the most interesting is a Champenois sparkling method inspired by their lagotto dog, Zeta: she was trained to find many truffles in the area, but she still hasn’t found any…
